For GIFTED CHILDREN
Nurturing Boundless Possibilities .
WHAT WE DO?
FOR GIFTED CHILDREN
We have successfully developed and implemented the Kaveri Gifted Nurturing Model, an innovative approach designed to support gifted children. This model has undergone rigorous testing and refinement through trial and error and is now demonstrating successful outcomes in practice. It is elicited from the Panchakosh- model of human development (from the Taittarya Upanishad), and is a unique framework for nurturing gifted individuals. Holistic development for the entire being of the child is ensured by the focus on the five koshas/aspects of being from the Panchakosh model.
The Gifted Nurturing program acts like a catalyst that helps each gifted child explore the possibilities that lie beyond the realm of what they know about their abilities. This model can be used to design programs for gifted students within mainstream schools or in the form of pull-out programs or residential camps.
Gifted education is not a financial liability, it’s a moral and ethical responsibility of equity. Every child has the right to an education that matches their intellectual and artistic needs.

Unlocking Hidden Capabilities
Identifying gifted students
Gifted students have the potential to contribute meaningfully to society. However, where most go wrong is in thinking giftedness only peeks out in academics but the truth is, gifted children can be extraordinary in any field, including artistic abilities, innovative outlook, or even creative ways of thinking or expressing themselves. The onus lies on gifted educators and professionals, mentors, counsellors, teachers, and to a large extent parents, to identify the special streak in a gifted child.
Identification Methods We Employ
At KGERC, we use a combination of standardized tests and teacher-centric identification techniques. Standardized tests include a combination of subjective and objective assessment parameters. We also rely on teachers nominations of students who show promise.
01.
Indian Child Intelligence Test (ICIT)
An individual performance test for children aged 4-12 for cognition, memory, reasoning, and spatial visualization.
02.
Culture Fair Intelligence Test (CFIT)
A unique IQ test that disregards cultural and environmental factors, for children aged 4 and above.
03.
Parent Nominations
Psychological assessment have some limitations and thus we encourage parents to nominate their child if they show characteristics of giftedness or share significant past achievements that show advanced performance.
04.
Teachers Nominations
Triaging based on teachers’ assessments of potential gifted students in their classes, which often prove correct.
Fostering Untapped Talent
Organizing Nurturing Programs
After you have planted a sapling, you must nurture it so it grows to its full capability. Similarly, the journey of fostering a gifted student is a long one and only begins with identification.
Our program nurtures gifted children, fostering their potential beyond the traditional school curriculum. We focus on developing their thinking and life skills, providing a supportive environment where they can learn, grow, and be inspired by peers. We prioritize ample opportunities for them to utilize their intelligence effectively.
Objectives of our Nurturing Program
Modeled on the teachings of our Upanishads
Our approach is rooted in the Panchakosha model from the Taittariya Upanishad of Yajurveda, ensuring holistic development by focusing on the child's five aspects of being.
